Rabiu Musa is a woodwork technician with over 12 years of experience, whose love for wood sparked on his first visit to a timber shade in his neighbourhood at an early age. Determined by his focus and drive to create innovative furnishing for his people. In his words ‘ I have faced a lot of challenges but I’m focused mostly on accomplishing my goal, so I consider rough times as moments of opportunity, a path to rejuvenating my strength and commitment to what I love doing’.
Rabiu describes himself as gritty and driven, in his words ‘I love what I do. He expresses his thoughts through his craft. When asked about the challenges, he has faced in his 12 years of practice recently, he said it didn’t bother him. “What I did was work very hard and do as much as I could in spite of all the difficulties, so I don’t have an axe to grind,” Rabiu says while sitting with his head bent on the Agbagen chair relaxing.
Creativity embraces transformation, explores and is moving out of the status quo. That’s how rabiu tried to explain his experience working at 27th architect. At first, when he would see the design, he expressed hesitance because he thought the idea seemed implausible but after he began to see ideas transitioning into reality he said ‘i became a believer’.
He observe how coming from a background where he had to make decisions without consultation affected his interpersonal relationship with the team when he first started working at 27th architects, it was hard for him to adjust but with the warm and healthy working environment it became easy for him to adjust “The work environment enables growth also that’s a plus” he says.
When asked to give a preview of what he does, Rabiu’s description exhibits clear and intricate language that conveyed how much he loves his work. He explains how his desire for wood started on his first visit to a timber shed.

In terms of future goals. He expressed interest in having a family someday and would love his family to be part of his plan. “I’m looking for a wife, you know to join me in woodworking so that my children will be a part of my work, I mean that’s my goal’. Rabiu says.
From raising heart rates to lowering stress, which is some of the benefit derived from finding joy in what one enjoy there’s no end to the health benefits of Rabiu’s love for work. Still, for him, the most important thing has been to create happy memories that would last a lifetime with the people closest to his heart, his people. As rabiu concludes ‘I’m delighted to be a part of this team’.
